I'm my wonderwall

I think that I have been waiting for my wonderwall
for far too long.
I've been waiting for that one superhero person to swoop into my life,
and make things absolutely perfect.
To come and fix things.

Wonderwall has been my favorite song for the longest time.
But here is a secret it doesn't tell you.

Only you can be your wonderwall.

Ultimately,
it's your responsibility to save yourself.
Only you can make yourself truly change.

It's sad really,
everyone sits around waiting for their wonderwall.
For that one person who makes life worth it.

And that person is inside them the entire time.

  3. Wonderwall has been my favorite song forever too. :D but you are right- nobody is going to swoop in and make everything all better.

  4. Hi, Jillian.

My name is Mark. I am moved by your post, "I'm my wonderwall". It reminds me of an article I wrote called, "Heroes and Heroines". Stay positive!

  5. Indeed only we can make ourselves happy if we wish to be happy.

I think people wait because it's hard to face such a challenge on your own. I mean it's natural for us to be dependent on others, especially teenagers.

The foolish man seeks happiness in the distance; the wise grows it under his feet. ~James Openheim

I love hearing things that aren't my own pathetic echoes.
