Found this paragraph in my AP biology textbook, and it made me laugh.
This is why I love science.

"For example, male and females Photinus fireflies find each other and mate when when females give a characteristic pattern of light flashes in response to flashes given by males. However, females of another firefly genus, Photurus, respond to these male Photinus flashes with the same flashing pattern. A male Photinus receives the incorrect message that a female Photurus is a suitable mate, and when he finds her she does not mate with him, but kills and eats him instead"

"Sometimes the world seems like a big hole. You spend all your life shouting down it and all you hear are echoes of some idiot yelling nonsense down a hole"
_Adam Duritz

I love hearing things that aren't my own pathetic echoes.
