""Volition (n)- The act of making a choice. Sometimes the choice of inaction has consequences stronger than we could ever imagine. Throughout history, men have been faced with difficult choices in a world that makes it easy for them to conform. This film explores the hope that lies behind every decision made in the face of adversity; the hope that is buried in the heart of those that look beyond themselves and see something bigger worth fighting for.""

As some of you may know, I am friends with the Barlow family. You know the
Barlow Girls? They are such an awesome family, all of them.

Well, I was reading Sarah Barlow's blog
and I got so excited.
Because, she was saying how Lauren had Facebooked this amazing website,
NEVER SILENCE LIFE. So what is it you ask? The Barlow Girls, along with some others are going to Washington DC, and....
LOL, Let me just let them speak for themselves:

I think there comes a time in all of our lives when we finally realize that our life is not all about us. It's a shocking discovery I know, but when we learn to live our lives outside of ourself and stop striving to do just what makes us happy, that is when we truly begin to live. When we live life for something greater then ourselves that is when we find true happiness.

I don't know if we fully know this but we were made to break from the mold this world tries to fit us in and be something great. We were called to take stands for things when no one else is. We were all called to change the world one life at a time. We all have a voice in this life and it's our choice how we want to use it. Do we want to stand up for hard things or do we want to sit back and just watch life pass us by? Do we keep complaining about everything wrong in the world or do we do something about it?!

We girls have a passion that when we know God is calling us to stand for something we have to do it with all of our hearts.. And God has been stirring up in our hearts a passion for life. A passion to be a voice for His children. The one's who are being silenced every single day because they are considered an inconvenience. They were not given a choice. Did you know that every 22 seconds a baby dies and that in America alone 40 million children have died since abortion was legalized?

1/3 of our generation has been aborted.

We have killed our future doctors, inventors, missionaries, musicians, presidents, the list goes on. Those babies had a future, they had a calling too, just like you and I do. We are living in the greatest Holocaust of our time. And it's time to do something about it.

We can't just sit back and say the task is too great, I'm just one person, I could never make a difference.. You were given a great gift in this life you were given a voice and the freedom to use it.. My question for you today is, are you brave enough to live a life for more then just yourself and will you use your voice for someone who was silenced. Will you join us in our fight to end this great holocaust.. Will you be a voice in silencing abortion? You can make the difference. You can be the change. We can't turn a blind eye anymore. We must face this head on and fight with all that is with in us.

We were all given a voice...I think it's time to use it...So, let's make history...
Becca, Alyssa & Lauren Barlow

I love you girls!
But, now seriously.
Think about this.
This is OUR generation.
WE are the ones that are going to live with these consequences eventually.
Not our grandparents, or even our parents, when it comes down to it.
THIS killing of babies is a second holocaust.
What are YOU doing to stop it?

I hope this has really made you stop, and think.
No, really think.
Is this how you want your kids living?

I would greatly appreciate any feedback.
And here is the website for further information: NEVER SILENCE LIFE

  1. Wow! Jillian that was a really amazing post
I'm totally inspired! Wow. I have to check out that website.

  2. That's a very moving post, but I don't know what I can do to help stop abortion. That's cool that your friends with the Barlow girls.

In answer to your question about Baptists. First off, I'd say that we are autonomous, which means that each individual Baptist church is independant of all other Baptist churches. In other words, all Bapists belive the basic doctrines (which I'll list later) but at the same time we can disagree within ourselves about the smaller less important doctrinal issues. This is different from the Catholic church which is accountable to higher officials who have studied the Bible (I think that's what you believe). Well here's the list.

What do we believe about God: God is creator and sustainer of all things. He is Lord over all and is an eternally existing triune being.

Who do we believe Jesus is: Jesus is fully God and fully human, born of the virgin Mary, and died on the cross for our sins. Three days later He arose bodily from the grave and ascended into Heaven. He will come again in glory to judge us all.

How are we saved: We are saved by grace alone when we accept Christ perfect sacrifice by faith alone. Our good works are the inevitable evidence of our faith in Christ but in no way are a basis for our

What we believe about the Bible: The Bible is God's infalliable words to us and his sole, final, totally trustworthy rule of faith.

What we believe happens upon death: The believers in Christ go to be him, and when Christ returns, we will be raised up with him and and our souls will be present with him in His eternal Kingdom. Those who've rejected Christ offer will suffer in eternal punishment in a place called Hell.

What is the church: The church(universal) is the body of Christ who's members are the redeemed through out history. The term, "church" is the assembly in which baptized believers gather and who's officers are pastors and deacons. Churches may gather to form associations in which missions and education are conducted to complete a common purpose.

What we believe about sacraments: Baptism is the immersion of believers only and is done to symbolize their faith in Christ. Communion is the rememberance of Christ death and the anticipation of His return. Both are symbolic memorials.

I hope this information has helped.

It was taken from the pamphlet "Denomonation Comparison" published by ROSE.

  3. Wow!
    I really liked that.
    I am one person, however.
The "big guys" of the government won't listen to just me.
But I'm hoping they will listen to all of us.

  4. Excellent post, Jillian.

It really saddens me that we have elected a president that does not value the lives of the unborn. We need to be praying for him.

_Adam Duritz

I love hearing things that aren't my own pathetic echoes.
